Heart #1. Located at the bottom left hand corner of Mabe Village, cut the middle bush to reveal the well. Go down it to find the Heart Piece as well as the Sea Lily's Bell.

Heart #2. Go north from Mabe Village to get to the Fishing Hole. Catch the Lunker closest to you (the big, fat one), to recieve 20 rupees and a Heart Piece.

Heart #3. You'll need the Roc's Feather to get this one. Jump over the pits in the Mysterious Forest to gain access to this Heart Piece.

Heart #4. Go into the cave in the Mysterious Forest and lift up some skulls with your Power Bracelet to find the Heart Piece.

Heart #5. You'll need the Pegasus Shoes and Bombs X2 to get this one. In the Ukuku Prairies, one screen west of the honeycomb tree. Bomb the wall to open the cave and the Pegasus Shoes to break the crystals inside.

Heart #6. After defeating the mini-boss for the Angler Key, fall down the hole in the center and bomb the wall and go inside to find another Heart Piece.

Heart #7. You'll need the flippers for this one. In Kanalet Castle, jump inside the moat and go one screen left of the castle's gates. Submerge yourself in the water and search the center of the screen to find the Heart Piece.

Heart #8. For this one, you'll need Power Bracelet, Pegasus Shoes, and the Roc's Feather. Enter the cemetary, which is one screen south of the witch's hut. Lift up the Roc's to gain access to the staircase, and continue throught the cave, using your Roc's Feather and Pegasus Shoes when necessary.

Heart #9. Enter the small cave east of the entrance of Angler Level. Start diving in the middle to find the Heart Piece.

Heart #10. For this one, you'll need the Hookshot. In the northeastern corner of Animal Village, bomb the cave and enter. Use the "flying bomb" technique to destroy the cracked rock across the pit to reveal the Heart Piece. Use your hookshot to retrieve it.

Heart #11. In the Tal Tal Mountain Range, use your hookshot to get across the unfinished bridge. Go down the trail and once you're at the end, cut down the bush to reveal a staircase. Continue through the cave and bomb the little niche in the southernmost piece of the wall to open a passageway. Go in and follow the trail to find the Heart Piece.

Heart #12. In Turtle Rock, look for the little hole at the northern end of the dungeon. Go through it to find yourself on a small hill with the Heart Piece on it.
